Abstrak Great Books of the Western World is a series of books originally published in the United States in 1952 by Encyclopedia Britannica Inc. in an attempt to present the western canon in a single package of 54 volumes. The series is now in its second edition and contains 60 volumes. Volume 56 served the history, philosophy and works of few great scientist who influent the world. There are Hendri Peincare, Max Planck, Alfred North Whitehead, Albert Enstein, Sir Arthur Eddington, Niels Bohr G.H. Hardy, Werner Heisenberg, Erwin Schrodinger, Theodosius Dobzhansky and C.H. Waddington.
