Abstrak | The word postmodernism and its cognates have become a common feature of everyday thought and speech. Whether as an adjective or a noun, a term of art or one of opprobrium, postmodern is finding its way into almost every facet of language. Postmodernism and law have become a common feature of everyday thought and speech. This terms become more familiar, we seem to be no closer now to understanding its meaning. The central feature of postmodern though is the elimination of the disctictions between epistemology and metaphysics, thruth and belief, and meaning as reference and meaning as expression. Modernism is the separation of beliefs along the line of thruth an falisty, together with an account of truth and falsity in term of a representational metaphysic. |
