(3) Low-wage economies attract capital,moving jobs from place to place in a ?race to the bottom,? leaving disarray and unemployment where the jobs are taken from and dislocations and worker exploitation where the jobs are relocated. (4) Global market forces are shaping stratification and inequality within societies. (5) The ever-larger ine quality gap between societies and within them increases the likelihood od social unrest, parochialism, and terrorism worldwide. (6) Extreme poverty affects immigration patterns (legal and illegal). (7) Transnational criminal networks traffic drugs, sex workers, child labor, and the dumping of hazardous wastes. |
