Abstrak The purpose of this book is to take stock of what we have learned during the first decade of research on social capital and health. It explains about social and health, how measure them, the emirical relationships between social capital and specific health outcome, the potential utility of the concept for designing interventions to improve population health. The book's first section traces the theoritical origins of social capital, and the strengths and limitations of current methodologies of measuring it. The second half surveys the empirical data on social capital in key health areas.
