When courts, sentencing, prisons, jails, and other areas of the criminal justice system are studied, often the first point of entry into the system is through police and law enforcement agencies. Unfortunately, understading of the important issues in law enforcement has little general literature to draw on. Currently available reference works on policing are narrowly focused and sorely out-date. This enclycopedia is ideally suited for academic and large public libary collections, especially those that serve students and lay readers interested in criminologi and policing. Law libraries, both academic and professional, will also want to add this to their collections as the best single source for all aspects of law enforcement. |
