Abstrak	Murphy on Evidence first appeared in 1980 under the name A Practical Approach to Evidence and its success in providing a readable and practical guide to the subject has been widely acknowledged not only by law teachers and students. but also by the profession. The book is now firmly established as the leading text for use on law degree courses and preparation for professional examinations and is frequently consulted by judges and practitioners. It has come to be regarded as a work of authority throughout the common law world. This sixth edition deals with the many significant changes which have taken place since publication of the last edition. it deals with all major statutory changes. including the Civil Evidence Act 1995 and the Criminal Procedure and Investigations Act 1996. Among the important new House of Lords cases analysed are Re H (Minors) (standard of proof Khan (evidence unfairly obtained), Derby Magistrates' Court. ex parte B, Re L (Minor) (legal professional privilege) and Aziz (good character directions). New material dealing with the scientific basis of evidence has been included for the first time. As in previous editions, the author's teaching method is centred around a realistic, ¬though fictitious. criminal case and civil case, which provide teachers und students alike with a searching method of testing their understanding of the law.
