Abstrak | Terrorism is a subject rife with moral certaintri but shrouded in terminological confusion. Most societies are quite clear that terrorism is an especially violent and unethical wrong, but are deeply unsure about terrorism is an especially violent and unethical wrong but are deeply unsure about what types of acts and which actors fall within its condemnatory reach. The terrorist shares the world of subversion with guerrillas and freedom fighters, while' state terrorists' apply the same method with the added benefit of governmental sanction. International politics contains its fair share of ' ex-terrorist' statesmen, and at least some national leaders are ' state terrorists ' who have somehow managed to discard the description. |
