When four years ago the Habibie Center Launched its flagship journal, Jurnal Demokrasi dan Hak-hak asasi Manusia HAM. (Journal Of Democracy and Human Rights). The intention was to Contribute to the public discourse as Indonesia was venturing into a new realm of democracy. The target was to educate ourselves and the public on these important issues as we felt that after four dacades of authoritarianism, democracy may have been a strange concept to the Indonesian polity.
