After all, the overwhelming majority of today's economists regard his contributions as out-dated and largely irrelevent for the continuing development of their discipline. In the opening essay, this question by drawing on recent results of the modern philosophy of science. Neurath's economic writings are of interest precisely because of their context-the spesific constellation of economic theory development up to the end of world war. The present book aims at clarifying which of Neurath's ideas remain of relevance today and how these are interrelated.
