Throughout the continent there are wars and rumors of wars as various regional and ethnic communities explode in orgies of violence that shatter all of the idealism that one could conceivably have about the continent. This book included chapters that reflected Africa's possibilities, because Africa's problems are commonplace in the discourses of the West. This book will have a major impact on the way national leaders and scholars in Africa see the future. It is to expected that there will be detractors who remain trapped in the negative images of the continent.
