Furthermore, the discussion of these changes within gendered migrations also highlight the regional nature of some of these movements and the (policy, legal) responses to them. The contributors investigates migrant women's labour market position vis-a-vis home-state women, and most chapters discuss the socioeconomic and legal differences between various types of migrant women, as well as migrant women in relation to migrant men. In this sense, a gender analysis and a focus on women go hand in hand and this is what the notion of gendered axes of stratification's is trying to capture.
