=520    $$a Great Books of the Western World is a series of books originally published in the United States in 1952 by Encyclopedia Britannica Inc. in an attempt to present the western canon in a single package of 54 volumes. The series is now in its second edition and contains 60 volumes. Volume 18 provides the history, philosophy, works and story of Saint Thomas Aquinas; The Summa Theological (Part 2). He was a philosopher and theologian in the scholastic tradition, known as Doctor Angelicus, Doctor Universalis and Doctor Communis. He was the foremost classical proponent of natural theology, and the father of the Thomistic school of philosophy and theology.
